  • Mrs. Thaker

Hello, my name is Pintu Thaker and I teach Web Design at Meadowcreek High School in Norcross Georgia, USA. It was very nice working with all of you. Students have enjoyed this global project and developed many skills, such as collaboration not only within the classroom but they collaborated globally with other countries, new web development skills (CSS, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, XHTML, JavaScript, etc…), and they have foster cultural understandings. I am looking forward to work with this project in the future and help students to develop many 21st century skills and cultural understandings.

My experience with GVC1317 was fun. I learned new things about cultures, food safety, and obesity. I’m hoping to do more projects like this. Although we didn’t have enough time in class I still managed to do my research and finish my page. My participation took place in creating a page about obesity and food safety. I read lots of interesting things about food safety and obesity. Every Monday and Tuesday I would do some research and summarize at the end of the period so I could add my information to my page. I like learning about our amazing world.

It has been an honor to be able to work with such a prodigious group of individuals in a worldwide project. Through this opportunity, I have learnt that communication is vital for a team to cooperate and effectively work together. Although we faced many challenges such as time zones and different connotations of words, we worked through it and achieved our goal. To work as a team no matter how many miles away we are apart from one another and build one awesome website. I will bring back this experience to my school and show others how students can work globally on projects they put their mind into.

My experience in GVC was pretty good. It was interesting be able to work on a project with people on the other side of the world. Especially when you get to work on something as important as GVC. You get to work in a large group and you learn a lot from other people and you get more experience in the web design field. I believe that GVC’s main purpose is to bring people that don’t know together and be successful to create a successful website. We need to learn how the Business world works, in order to succeed. Also you learn how to get organized and pace yourself to meet the deadlines required

My Experience in GVC was a Great one, I have learned so much in one semester working with GVC, and across the World with South Korea. I have learned how to work with different people, and interact with them. We are working together to make one Successful Web page, in order to Succeed. This shows us how to Work with Different Countries around the world, and combine our ideas in order to get where we need to.

Working with students from USA and South Korea on GVC was a very unique yet fun experience. It not only taught me how to better organize a website, but also helped me learn better communicational skills and teamwork. Although we faced some difficulties in the process of putting this project together, we managed to pull through. I am glad that I had the opportunity to participate in this unique and exciting project.

I also learned how to build a better website and communicate with others. This project was a great experience for me, since I got to work with people from my school and students from schools in USA and South Korea.

My name is Sameer Bhagwat, I’m 17, originally from India, and have lived in South Korea for 8 years. I like all subjects and love to play volleyball and soccer. I always try to be positive about things and try to enjoy everything I do, though it is very difficult to do so. I was assigned as the project manager for GVC, this brought forth quite a lot of challenges. All in all, through the GVC project I learned more about group dynamics and in some ways benefited by understanding the importance of time management.

  • Hongseo Yoon

I joined this GVC group at the beginning of the school year last year. I found this project particularly interesting as I have never taken part in a large scale project like this. Also, since I have great interest in computer technologies, a project like this that involves a lot of computer uses, such as online communication and website building, caught my attention and interest. Although I was not directly involved in website making in the project, I think working in this GVC group was a valuable experience for me. I was able to learn how important organization and communication is in such a large scale project. I hope that I can use this experience from GVC group in other fields in future.

  • Junwoo Rha

Junwoo Rha is an 18 year old Korean boy who currently attends Dwight School Seoul in Digital Media City, Korea. He is a wannabe-geek and a lover of all kinds of music. In fact, he is also the school's unofficial DJ, spinning records and partying all night when he's not busy doing geeky stuff like studying for physics or watching My Little Pony(lol). He is known for his long messy black hair, big glasses, and weird sense of humour. What he lacks for in speedy eating, he makes up for in his positive attitude and diligence. Although not quite sure what he exactly wants to do when he grows up, he wishes to become a scientist one day. In the GVC, he has contributed with research about the effects of obesity. He also apparently likes to write about himself in the third person.

  • Yoo Jeong Han

I have joined the GVC at a late point and thus have not contributed as much to the group as the others. However, I was thrilled at the fact that I was able to work once again on the internet as the last time I have done so was a couple of years ago. Trembling over my old memories to use Adobe dreamweaver was troublesome yet the experience was simply-said "fun". I enjoyed my short time being a part of this club and I am glad that this website stands in front of the public with its unique domain.
